What is SkyPort V2
-
SkyPort V2 is a hardware interface / adapter standard from DJI that allows payloads (cameras, sensors, LiDAR, drop‑kits, etc.) to be mounted and integrated on compatible DJI enterprise drones.
-
It works together with the official Payload SDK (PSDK) — meaning payloads connected via SkyPort V2 can communicate with the drone’s flight controller, power system, telemetry, gimbal controls, etc.
-
SkyPort V2 is essentially the “bridge” that turns a drone into a flexible platform where you can attach third‑party or custom gear — rather than being limited to only DJI’s default camera payloads.
Key Features & What’s New in V2

Feature / Improvement Benefit / What it Enables Flat Ribbon Cable Connectors Easier and lower‑cost wiring / payload integration — helpful for developers or third‑party manufacturers not specialized in gimbals. High Voltage (HV) Mode Provides increased power output to payloads — useful for power-hungry sensors or tools. TimeSync (timestamp synchronization) Ensures payload data (e.g. images, sensor data) are time‑aligned with drone system timestamps — important for mapping, synchronized data capture, survey accuracy. Broad Payload Compatibility (cameras, multispectral sensors, LiDAR, drop kits, custom modules)** Lets users mount many different types of equipment on DJI drones for diverse tasks — surveying, agriculture, inspections, etc.
